This is what the renowned international athlete and bike route designer Nikki Whiles (https://www.instagram.com/nikki_whiles). He was a special guest at the event, which Tourist Society "Boeritsa", organized by Europe Programme in October.
Within a few days we had the opportunity to exchange experiences and gain valuable knowledge from his practice. Together with the team of Bike Ventures, he got to know the mountains around Sofia and felt the adrenaline of the downhill bike trails on Vitosha and Lyulin mountains.
Apart from the exciting practical part, the event also included a seminar with a panel discussion, during which we discussed what are the best practices for building specialized infrastructure and developing cycling destinations in Bulgaria and around the world. Representatives of institutions as well as local mountain biking clubs and society took part in the discussion.
