From Lyulin Mountain to Vitosha by bike along a safe and easy route - this is what the project "Bike Park The Two Mountains - Sofia's Hidden Pearl" offers, which aims to connect the two most visited mountains in the capital's surroundings. The idea is already being actively worked on, says the mayor of the Ovcha Kupel district, Angel Stefanov.
"With the help of the free work of volunteers and the enthusiasm of the Tourist Society "Boeritsa", the first part of 1 km of the bike path, which bears the colorful name "Pumba" around the hut, has already been built," says the district mayor.
According to Dimo Hristov from the company, the terrain is fast, easy, very pleasant, even for beginners in cycling. Every Tuesday the society organizes a group "After work Tuesday relaxation", in which everyone is welcome to join. Today in the renovated hut "Bonsovi Meadows" a seminar was held with speaker Dobromir Dobrev, a specialist in trailbuilding. During the meeting, best practices for surveying, marking, building and securing a mountain bike trail were discussed. The project is implemented by the Tourist Society "Boeritsa", in partnership with the district "Ovcha Kupel", district "Vitosha" and the Association "Bulgarian Tourist Union". The idea is realized with the financial support of Sofia Municipality - Europe 2023 Programme
