Divotinsky Monastery

Divotinsky Monastery "St. Trinity" is located in the northern slopes of Lyulin Mountain and is active Orthodox male monastery in Western Bulgaria. It has the status of monument of culture.

The monastery was founded in the 11th century and is one of the oldest preserved monasteries around Sofia. It is believed that the holy monastery also served as a refuge for Vasil Levski during his visits to the surrounding area. The church and the monastery buildings in their present form were built in 1902, after being burnt down three times during the Ottoman rule.
