Association "Alabak" (Varvara/Velingrad)

Alabak is a mountain ridge in the Western Rhodopes located between the valleys of the Yadenitsa and Chepinska rivers. The ridge of the ridge rises 1500 - 1800 m above sea level and its highest point is the peak of Chernovets (Arapchal) - 1833,7 m. On the northern, northeastern and southeastern foothills of the ridge gush warm mineral springs. Along the valley of the Chepinska River and its tributary Ablanitsa, between the stations of Varvara, Dolene, Velingrad and Avramovi Kolibi, runs a section of the route of the narrow-gauge railway Septemvri - Velingrad - Dobrinishte.

The area offers good conditions for hiking, but unfortunately many of the mountain trails are not maintained and are not in good condition.
